*Makuri Madness – Stage 3* was all about racing to my strengths and trying to limit the damage later. Knowing the final climb was not going to suit me, my goal was to **push hard early and make the race as selective as possible**, hoping to drop as many riders as I could before reaching the decisive uphill finish. The plan worked reasonably well, and while I still lost ground on the final climb, I managed to *beat my pre-race prediction* and come away with a better result than expected.
