Role-Play: Collaborative Planning in the Virginia IECSE Model

Scenario: An itinerant early childhood special education (IECSE) teacher and a general education preschool teacher meet to plan how to embed a child’s IEP learning goals into everyday classroom routines. The goal is to demonstrate that the IECSE teacher and general education teacher work as partners: the general education teacher remains the primary classroom teacher, while both educators plan meaningful opportunities for the child to participate and learn throughout the day.
