Bazooka vs German Panzers — How One Infantry Weapon Took on Armored Giants Seventy yards away, a German tank turns slowly at the edge of a tree line. A lone infantryman has one rocket in a tube and one chance to make it count. The bazooka began with a laboratory accident in 1888 and took shape in 1942 at Aberdeen Proving Ground, when two Army ordnance officers, Leslie Skinner and Edward Uhl, joined a small rocket with a shaped-charge warhead. This documentary follows the weapon from Maryland to the battlefields of North Africa and Normandy, shows how the Germans copied what they captured, and explains why the bazooka never made the American infantryman invincible. It gave him a chance. #ww2 #worldwar2 #bazooka #antitank #panzer #usarmy #weapons #history #militaryhistory
