Croxon's Historical Pub Tours - High Holborn

In this episode we are in High Holborn, visiting seven superb pubs and exploring some fascinating features of the area.. We investigate one of the four legal inns of court, a beautiful medieval church which is the sole survivor of a medieval bishops palace, a former Wren church, a former factory where the Maxim gun was invented, London's jewelry and diamond centre, the site of the death of one of Elizabeth Ist and James I chief ministers, the site of the death of an heiress of an illustrious family, and one of London's green pleasant squares. The range of pubs we visit include one associated with Oliver Cromwell; another associated with Elizabeth Ist, Christopher Hatton, and the bishops of Ely; London's only pub with a baronial hall; and a survivor of First World War bombing.
