Our Timber frame cabin Part V: Wedged through tenons

Taking the advice of our friend Timber Wright Jay C. WhiteCloud we chose to utilize through wedged tenons to join our frame together. Wedges have less chance of a relish failure than do pegs and can be retightened when needed in the future. This timber is Chestnut Oak and the wedge is Black Locust.
