Tropic Star Lodge | February 2026 | Black Marlin Season

We booked this Tropic Star trip 15 months in advance and finally made it down February 13–22. We happened to land during one of the two slow weeks of black marlin season, but even then the fishing was unreal. We put over 25 tuna in the boat, caught sailfish, landed a blue marlin, fought a hammerhead, boated mahi mahi, and picked up several other species along the way. Even when the marlin bite slowed, there was always something pulling drag. Tropic Star’s accommodations were out of this world. First-class operation from top to bottom. Worth every minute of the wait.
