Every morning I had hundreds of GitHub notifications, a pile of release notes and blogs I'd stopped opening. Now I get one Slack message that tells me what actually changed in my stack, built in n8n with Claude. In this build I pull GitHub commits, releases and RSS feeds into n8n, run them through a two-pass filter (free keyword rules first, then Claude scoring each item 1–5 for relevance to my stack), and have Claude write a short digest straight into Slack in two sections: WHAT CHANGED and WORTH READING. It runs every weekday morning for under £1 a month. I also cover the parts that broke, because they did. ⬇️ FREE KIT: import one file and you're running https://coderunship.com/store/ (select AI Newsletter Workflow Kit) The complete 38-node n8n workflow, with all the code built in Setup guide: GitHub, Slack and Anthropic credentials, troubleshooting, costs 🛠️ SUPPORTER KIT: for changing the code safely CodeRunShip Supporters, £4.99/month → https://coderunship.com/store Every Code node as a real JavaScript file, plus the build script that puts them back into the workflow Offline test harness: run the whole pipeline against sample data. No API calls, no cost, about a second per change 14 break-it cases: prompt injection, malformed feeds, rate limits, release ladders Prompt design notes: why each line of both prompts is there, and how they fail Supporters also get templates and experiments early, behind-the-scenes updates and discounts on future products. The security keyword "RCE" matched inside "resources", so almost every commit got boosted. Word-bound your acronyms. 2. A rule meant to kill "Top 10 tips in 2026" posts also dropped good articles that ended in a year. 3. React moved GitHub org, and its updates quietly started filing under General instead of Frontend. 4. GitHub tokens expire after 30 days by default. Set a longer expiry when you create one. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ COST ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Pass 1 is free. Haiku scores, Sonnet writes: a few pence a run, under £1 a month on a weekday schedule. Set a spend limit on your API key anyway. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ TOOLS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ n8n → https://n8n.io/ I self-host it. If you don't need to, n8n Cloud skips the Docker part entirely.
