Hiding in Plain Sight (Live - Audley End 2/8/25) - Manic Street Preachers

‘Hiding in Plain Sight’ by Manic Street Preachers, live from Audley End, Saffron Walden on the 2nd August 2025. Support was provided by Ash and The Charlatans. This gig was part of their tour promoting their 15th album ‘Critical Thinking’, released earlier in the year. This song is off of that very album. It is sung by songwriter and bassist Nicky Wire, instead of usual frontman and singer James Dean Bradfield. The former had only sung a handful of times on Manics songs before, occasionally on a song for an album and a string of B-Sides. Wire also begins with an intro of ‘Bring on the Dancing Horses’ by Echo and the Bunnymen from their 1985 compilation album ‘Songs to Learn & Sing’ I’ve made it my goal to audio record at least one song per gig I go to, I have previously recorded songs from gigs of (among others): Noel Gallagher, Death Cab For Cutie, Travis, Snow Patrol and Twenty One Pilots.
