Sutherland's FINAL Lucrezia Borgia (High Db & OVATION for the CENTURIES)

Joan Sutherland sings the ornamented repeat of the final cabaletta from Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia, "Era desso il figlio mio". At 62 years of age, Sutherland performs the aria transposed down a whole step and interpolates one of the largest high D-flats of her career. The audience, naturally, responds with a matching explosion of sound. Live in Paris on June 17, 1989. Richard Bonynge conducts. The sound is already a wonderful stereo to begin with, but a little equalization and gain work in order to even out applause levels, I think I have brought some slight improvements to the table.
