GTA 6's Leonida Is Wilder AND Deadlier Than You Think

GTA 6 has hurricanes, storms that park over one part of the map and stay there, more than 170 animal species and a story that won't let you chain missions back to back. Here's what all of that does to your first weeks in Leonida: The wait: why the next mission sometimes isn't on the map yet, the jobs that need cash before they open, and why Rob Nelson's last run through the story took about 80 hours with almost none of the open world in it. The cash run: the store robbery that eats your evening, witnesses and the camera over the door, the outfit the cops remember, the car with a tracker and why the register money isn't yours until it's in the bank. The weather: local storms you can see from across the water, tropical storms and hurricanes, the wind rules (sea breeze after sunset, afternoon storm clouds, dead air behind towers), rough and smooth water around the Keys, and puddles that stay. The animals: 170+ species, Pet / Scold / Study, the Rare, Discoverable and Legendary tiers, the invasive species and what they do in the real Florida, and why I think the gators bite. The people and the map: who's walking around Leonida, why a crowd that notices you can describe you to the cops, the fuel gauge, and the six regions and what slows you down in each one. Hurricane damage, animal attacks and hunting are my read based on what Rockstar has shown and on GTA 5 and Red Dead 2. They are not confirmed, and I say so in the video. Are you going straight down the story, or are you going to be in the swamp studying gators for a week? Tell me in the comments. Still need your copy or a controller before November 19?
