Agaricus campestris, commonly known as the field mushroom, is an edible mushroom found in grasslands across Europe, North America, and other temperate regions. It has a white to light brown cap, pink gills that darken to brown with age, and a stout stalk with a delicate ring. It is closely related to the cultivated white button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus). This species is widely foraged but can be confused with toxic lookalikes, such as Agaricus xanthodermus.
