A dream. Jealousy between brothers. Tears. A blood-stained shirt. And a story about a wolf. But tears do not prove innocence, and a blood-stained shirt does not prove a wolf. When Yaʿqūb was confronted with what appeared to be devastating evidence, he recognised that something was wrong. Rather than surrendering to despair, he turned to Allah with beautiful patience — fa-sabrun jamīl. A reminder that appearances can deceive, truth can remain hidden for years, and patience means continuing to trust Allah even when we cannot yet see the answer.
