🌴 RODRIGUES ISLAND IN JULY | 4 RELAXING DAYS 🇲🇺 Come along with us for 4 days exploring the beautiful island of Rodrigues in July! From stunning beaches and caves to giant tortoises, Rodrigues is the perfect destination for a relaxing island escape. While 4 days gave us a great taste of what the island has to offer, we would recommend staying a few extra days to explore Rodrigues at a more relaxed pace and experience even more of its hidden gems. 🏨 WHERE WE STAYED Cotton Bay Hotel – Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The rooms were generally clean and comfortable, although we did encounter a few bugs, which is understandable given the island setting. The hotel provided a convenient and relaxing base for exploring Rodrigues. As for the food, we particularly enjoyed the breakfast and Rodrigues Night, which were both great. On the other evenings, we felt there was some room for improvement. 🚗 TRANSPORT ✈️ Airport → Hotel: Private transfer booked in advance 🚙 Getting around: Rental car arranged through our hotel during our stay 📍 PLACES WE VISITED Port Mathurin – The island's main town, perfect for exploring and soaking up the local atmosphere Trou d'Argent – One of Rodrigues' most beautiful and scenic coastal spots François Leguat Reserve 🐢 – A must-visit! We explored the Tortoise Reserve and Grand Cave. Highly recommended! St Gabriel Cathedral ⛪ – A beautiful and peaceful landmark Anse Mourouk 🌊 – A gorgeous beach and coastal area Rodrigues Airport Delay – One downside of our trip was the return journey home. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed by around 4 hours late at night, and there wasn’t much to do at the airport while we waited. The airline kindly provided us with food and water, which was a nice gesture and much appreciated. We eventually arrived back in Mauritius around 3 AM. If possible, we would recommend choosing a daytime flight for the return journey to avoid a similar late-night delay.
