VANGUARD: Your RANK Is About to Change... (Season 1 Prestige Changes)

Call of Duty Vanguard’s introduction into the COD franchise has brought with it a ton of things to do initially but if you didn’t know, you’re also progressing elsewhere in Call of Duty while simply playing Vanguard. Whether it be your Season 6 Battle Pass in Black Ops Cold War or your tethered rank between Warzone, Modern Warfare and Cold War, Vanguard is progressing XP throughout all of those. But what happens to your existing rank when Season 1 and the integration happens with Call of Duty Vanguard and the rest of the COD titles? Every one of those will be synchronized with a singular battle pass and rank, but what happens to the prestiges that we’ve seen already? Turns out, we’ve already learned the fate of those and the coming prestiges within Call of Duty Vanguard with Season 1. The Seasonal Prestige system as we know it will be around, but it will also be changing with Vanguard’s Season 1 integration leading to your rank changing forever; retiring your Black Ops Cold War ranks and replacing them with Vanguard’s seems to be the way the prestige system will work going forward, where next year we’ll see Vanguard’s retired in place of “Modern Warfare II”’s and beyond.
