Mexico’s General Law of Circular Economy took effect this year, establishing the country’s first mandatory national framework for how products, including plastics, are designed, produced, and recovered. In Recycled Content’s first-ever Spanish-language episode, guest host Jazlin Lopez, APR's Manager of Digital Communications and Latin American Membership, sits down with Martha Ricardi Velázquez, APR’s Director of Strategy for Latin America, to unpack what the new law means for companies operating in Mexico—and what still needs to change to make more packaging truly recyclable. Martha also discusses Mexico’s strong PET collection rate and why it puts the country in a promising position to reach its goal of recovering 80% of PET by 2030.
