When you're learning a new character, or learning Street Fighter for the first time, relying on the auto combos in modern controls is very tempting. But light auto doesn't knock down. Medium auto always spends two bars of drive, even when you don't need to. Heavy has slow startup and is vulnerable to being interrupted, even if you're itching to go for the biggest punch you have.
