Rise of the Phoenix (Instrumental Musical Score, Adapted for Hollow Earth Syndicate)

Rise of the Phoenix is an instrumental piece adapted from a section of my novel Hollow Earth Syndicate. The scene begins deep beneath the Earth, where a resonance moves through stone toward the planet’s iron core. The iron answers, light separates into every wavelength at once, and a vast phoenix rises as something entirely new takes form. Eventually the light spreads through the world like a second sun before contracting again into something crystalline and ordered. For this piece, I wanted to experiment with directing a musical score rather than writing lyrics. I used the scene itself as the roadmap and guided the music section by section in Suno. I chose the deep subterranean bass for the movement beneath the Earth, the gradual orchestral build as the phoenix begins to form, the widening sound as its wings expand, and the very high ethereal tones for the moment the planet seems to ignite from within. I also directed the transitions, pacing, contrast between sections, and the quieter crystalline ending as the immense energy contracts back into order. The goal was to see whether a passage of prose could become music without ever being sung—whether the listener could feel the scene unfolding through sound alone.
