From Firefighter to Real Estate Leader | Matt Martinec

What does a career built around helping people look like after leaving the fire service? Matt Martinec, team leader and business coach at Keller Williams Paint Creek, joins Terra Csotty on Beyond the Bio to share his journey from more than 20 years as a firefighter and paramedic to small-business ownership, real estate, and leadership. Matt discusses rebuilding after COVID disrupted his businesses, finding his place in real estate, and helping agents build careers that fit their goals and their lives. The conversation covers joining a team versus going solo, creating systems that give top producers their time back, and why brokerage culture deserves a closer look than commission splits alone. They also talk about handwritten notes, consistent follow-up, using AI without losing the human connection, and the importance of family, mentorship, and a reputation people trust.
