In the best possible way. Imagine an old-world market where nobody is desperately trying to sell you something. Traditional architecture, winding alleyways, pastel-colored buildings, and a slower pace of life. Add a city that feels incredibly safe, luxurious yet mellow, and full of amazing vegetarian food, and suddenly a quick stopover becomes somewhere you wish you'd stayed longer. Qatar turned out to be a fantastic destination for vegetarians, with delicious food and plenty of options to discover. *WHY QATAR SURPRISED US* After visiting 26 countries over 14 months, we thought we had a pretty good idea of what to expect from different destinations. But Doha caught us off guard. It felt safe, calm, polished, and welcoming. There was a luxurious feel without the frantic energy you find in some major cities, and the traditional market had a charm that felt refreshingly authentic. We came expecting a stopover. Instead, we found a place with character, culture, beautiful architecture, and a slower pace that made us fall in love with it.
