Phone Recovery + Jewelry Discovery! Beach Metal Detecting ⛱️

Join me and my son Ashton from Myrtle Metal for a two-day metal detecting adventure on Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! Armed with my Minelab Manticore metal detector and CKG Titanium Scoop, I hit the beach searching for lost jewelry, coins, and whatever other surprises are hiding beneath the sand. This hunt produced a little bit of everything — including some pretty cool jewelry. I found a heart-design toe ring (0:33), several coins including dimes and quarters (2:33, 4:10, 8:12, 13:38), and one of my favorite finds of the hunt, a colorful ice cream cone ring (3:23). We also uncovered several earrings (6:18, 10:19, 12:30), a hefty 2.5-ounce fishing sinker (9:06), and a Star Trek communicator shaped blob of metal (8:17). But the most important recovery wasn't jewelry at all. At 10:45, I dug a water-logged iPhone out of the dry sand. Even better, we were able to track down its owner and return the lost phone to them in Virginia! (11:35). Finding treasure is always fun, but getting something important back to its owner makes for a pretty great day of metal detecting. Later, I head back out for some evening beach metal detecting (14:49). Cooler temperatures, a light ocean breeze, fewer people, and no blazing Myrtle Beach sun make evening hunts one of my favorite times to get some toes in the sand and swing the Manticore. At the end of the video (15:15), I lay out everything we recovered over the two days — rings, earrings, coins, a knife, the recovered phone, and plenty of other beach finds.
