In this Dharma talk and guided meditation, recorded during our online Sangha, we conclude a multi-week exploration of the Three Refuges — Awareness, Truth, and Love — and reflect on how these ancient teachings can become living resources in our everyday lives. Throughout this series we’ve explored refuge not as a way of escaping life’s challenges, but as a way of meeting them with greater steadiness, honesty, and care. In this final session, we bring the three refuges together and explore how they become truly meaningful when they are known as a lived, embodied experience — something we can feel and return to in the midst of changing conditions. Drawing on Buddhist wisdom, nature-based metaphors, and reflections from our shared Sangha practice, this session explores how refuge becomes something we carry within us — an inner orientation we can return to again and again. The talk includes: 🌿 Reflections on the Three Refuges as lived experience — Awareness, Truth, and Love 🌿 Teachings on how refuge becomes trustworthy through repeated returning 🌿 Reflections on Sangha as a field of care that reminds us we do not walk this path alone 🌿 Nature-based metaphors exploring interbeing, belonging, and the web of life The closing meditation invites you to sense the felt experience of each refuge in the body — resting in awareness, allowing the truth of the present moment, and remembering the field of care that holds us within the larger web of life. May this practice support you in strengthening your inner map of refuge — remembering again and again the places you can return to for steadiness, belonging, and wise care, no matter the conditions of life. May this practice support you in trusting the river within you, and in remembering your belonging to the greater sea of life. 🌊 If it resonates, you’re warmly invited to join my online sangha or courses, where we practice in community: https://www.forestfloormindfulness.com 🌿 About Lisa Pedscalny Lisa is a mindfulness teacher certified through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.
