For decades, this vast Philips factory complex was known locally as the Forbidden City, accessible only to Philips employees with a pass. Today it's the most creative district in Eindhoven, packed with converted factories, galleries, and design studios. Along the way, we pass the Philips Stadium, home of PSV, before arriving at Strijp-S itself: the Ketelhuis, the shipping-container village of Plug-in-City, and the old industrial streets of Leidingstraat and Torenallee. We end at the Evoluon, Philips' former technology museum, instantly recognisable by its flying-saucer shape. This is Eindhoven at its most forward-looking: industrial roots reborn as one of Europe's true tech capitals.
