INTRODUCTION: It is a joy to welcome you to the opening of the Southern Delaware Orchestra’s 2026–2027 season. When we envisioned Ritmos Latinos, we did so with a core belief: an orchestra should not merely be a curator of the past, but a living reflection of the vibrant community it serves. Rhythm is the most fundamental and unifying of human languages. It predates borders and defies boundaries. The Latin and Hispanic musical traditions are built on rhythms that inherently invite us to move, to feel, and to gather together. By placing these voices at the center of our stage, we celebrate the diverse cultural threads that enrich our own community here in southern Delaware, acknowledging that classical music is a living, breathing, global conversation. -James Allen Anderson Ritmos Latinos (Latin Rhythms) was performed by the Southern Delaware Orchestra (SODELO) on October 4, 2026 at the Cape Henlopen High School, Lewes, Delaware.
