The Wet Zone, located in the southwestern lowlands, is home to tropical wet evergreen forests, and montane evergreen forests in the highlands. The Dry Zone, found in the northern region and along the eastern coastline, which is dominated by dry evergreen and moist deciduous forests. And the Intermediate Zone, lying between both the Wet and Dry Zones. Sri Lanka’s biodiversity boasts a high number of endemic species, animals and plants found nowhere else on Earth.
