About shipping Orchids - These Orchids spent 1 month and a half on transport!

Today we talk a bit about some golden rules of orchid transport and why orchids generally handle transport well. ▼▼▼More info below!▼▼▼ Being that most orchids we own are epyphites, they tend to last on transport a lot better than many other plants! Being able to store water and growing slow means we can keep them in a box for even a month and they would still be alive. There are however a few things that can make transport unsuccessful, even if these plants are strong and vigorous. These are: 1. Excessive moisture on leaves, crowns, spikes, pseudobulbs and anything that is not a root. Water trapped can lead to many ailments. 2. Extreme temperatures which can stress and damage plant tissue, to the point of destroying it. 3. Poor packaging that doesn't protect against mechanical damage, as orchids can be fragile plants.
