The sermon draws on the day’s readings to emphasize that faith is lived through compassionate action, guided by the Holy Spirit. The service includes prayers of confession and thanksgiving, readings from Jeremiah 31, Psalm 46, Romans 3 and John 8, and a sermon on faith, grace and Christian service. Congregational hymns include “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God,” “Amazing Grace” and “O Master, Let Me Walk with You.” The service also features the Apostles’ Creed, prayers for the congregation and the world, Communion, and a closing blessing.
