Slave Route Challenge 21km 2025

THIS IS THE BEST RACE I HAVE EVER ATTENDED IN 2025🙏 Thank you Itheko Sport Athletic Club for an extremely well organised event that I believe even the big ultra in our Mother City can learn a lot from👏🙌 Start was well organised even with self seeding, not crowded. Waterstations all on point 3km with water, coke and Powerade. Extremely well marshalled and manned intersections with lots of medics on route. The gees was phenomenal and the amazing District Six up Koesister Hill with the koesisters and the lovely backdrop of our Table Mountain view, it really made me humble why I come back year after year and live in our beautiful and blessed city🙏😍⛰️❤️ Together with the historic route along the way and ending off at the Castle of Good Hope and Grand Parade where our beloved Madiba brought unity to our lands, it is something so remarkable and proud of that I can call myself a South African 🇿🇦 Last year was the same great race except this year, we even had the perfect overcast, cool and no wind weather ✌️ I took it real easy today as you all know that I am still recovering from my minor MCL injury but still can run road but slow and no trail or uneven surface to ensure my knee didn't do side movements. I am very happy to be surrounded by my friends and running community who offer support and words of wisdom on my injury today🙏 Thank you and I appreciate you all🙌🤗 For the ❤️ of 🏃!
