The Final Day - Solo Newcastle

Just like that. The end of an era. After 11 years of service today was the day Solo Resource & Recovery made there way down the streets of Newcastle one final time. Areas of Hamilton, Broadmeadow & Stockton where the areas to receive pick up from Solo last. However without a doubt I’m sure these trucks will live another healthy life being redeployed in other Solo contracts in Australia. November 2012, Solo took over the previous contractor Thiess and commenced recycling pick up in Newcastle. 11 years later the same thing happens however this time Cleanaway will take over Solo. I won’t go into to much detail on how Cleanaway will runs things as that will be revealed in coming months. Tommorow is the first day of the new contract. Big thanks to all drivers at Solo who have made an impact of waste collection in Newcastle: Kev, Matt, Sam, Phil, Mario & Paul.
