Okay so we're in the auditorium and just gonna go over some programs and kind of basics right, just so you can see how ProPresenter can operate and help you in your event. So basically, we just go open up ProPresenter first, it's just this little icon down here on the Mac, you just have to click it once, it'll open, right, you don't have to double click.
So a couple of things here: there's a library, a lot of the events our ministries will have a library already built in. I try to keep this as simple as possible but also kind of make it broad so you don't have to create a new presentation every single time, right, the same thing with the playlist. I'm just gonna keep it really simple and generic.
So the library just has all the presentations in here, so I'll show you the songs, so this is all the songs that are in there and you can manipulate these songs however you want. There's men's events, there's like announcements like Ironworks announcements, and then speaker, and then basically I would just put in the presentation however they're gonna do it, right, like people do it in Powerpoint and then import it in. And then the same thing, you can actually go up here and do a blank slide and then edit the text in here. And then once you do that click "show" and then it will actually show on the screen itself.
The other way you can do it is Powerpoint. The easiest way is to open up Powerpoint, come over here to "file" and "export", save it as the file format as a JPEG, you can tell it where you wanna place it - I'm gonna put it in downloads to make it easier to find. You wanna be sure to do every slide unless you just want one, and the default should be 1920 x 1080 so it'll stretch across the screen, and hit "export". Then close Powerpoint, navigate back to downloads, and you can highlight all of these slides. I always rename them because otherwise there's gonna be "slide 1", "slide 2" whatever - so I always right click, rename, and I call it the name of the event and the date. Then you can just drag it over here and it'll show your slides just like Powerpoint.
The good thing about this is that if you need to change a slide, you can go into Powerpoint, change it, and then export just that slide back out and drop it in. Now the good thing with ProPresenter is that if I notice a mistake on a slide I can do a quick edit and make the change right there, whereas in Powerpoint you actually cannot make that edit without closing it, making the change, and bringing it back up - looks awkward. Here you can make the change very quickly.
One more thing: these songs in the playlist are really just pointers back to the library. So if I highlight a song like "Way Maker" and delete it, it just deletes it off the playlist - if we go back to the song list and filter for "way maker", the same song is still right there.
If you want your slides to look consistent, just put a theme on there so your slides will always be the same - you do one slide and then the next slide follows the same theme.
To edit the slides, you can do a quick edit which leaves it visible, or a big edit where you can work on multiple slides at once. When editing, you have your shape (the box) and your text - select the box and you can change the font however you want: size, capitalization, bold, shadow, justification, and other advanced options.
If you need more assistance than that, just let us know - we can come help you, and we can even build macros so you don't have to redo the themes every single time.
And that's it!
