Canada’s New Invention Could Replace Moon Technology Forever!

Canada Built A ROBOT That Survives A −200°C Night On The Moon There is a rover sitting near the Moon's south pole right now, in perfect condition, that has not answered a single call in years. It isn't broken. Nothing hit it. It just went to sleep when the sun went down — and never woke up. That is the normal outcome. Landing on the Moon is hard, but landing is not what kills machines. The night is. One lunar night lasts fourteen Earth days. No sunlight. No power. And temperatures that fall to around −200°C, more than twice as cold as anything ever recorded on Earth. Now a small company in Bolton, Ontario is building Canada's first lunar rover — a robot designed to sleep through that night and wake up on the other side. In sixty years of spaceflight, Canada has never driven anything on another world.
