God wants your light to shine, but the purpose of shining isn’t to make people impressed with you. It’s to help people see God through you.
In Part 3 of the “All Lit Up” series, Pastor Cord challenges us to examine where the credit goes when God uses our gifts, opens doors, carries us through difficult seasons, and allows our lives to impact others. Like Daniel, we can let our gifts be visible without forgetting the One who gave them. The light may shine through us, but the glory belongs to God.
Key Takeaways
Shine Without Stealing God’s Spotlight — You can be gifted, successful, promoted, and celebrated without forgetting who opened the door.
The Best Testimony Leaves God With the Credit — Your survival, peace, forgiveness, strength, and perseverance can become evidence of God at work in your life.
Let Your Life Point Beyond You — Our light should be visible in how we love people, pursue justice, handle differences, and treat people with dignity.
“When my life points to me, the testimony stops; when my life points to God, the testimony starts.”
You’re not the destination. You’re the direction sign pointing people to Jesus.

YOUR LIGHT CAN SHINE WITHOUT YOU STEALING GOD’S SPOTLIGHT.
When God blesses you, opens doors, uses your gifts, or carries you through something you couldn't have survived on your own, who gets the credit?
In Part 3 of “All Lit Up,” Pastor Cord teaches from Matthew 5:16 that our lives should work more like windows than mirrors. A mirror draws attention back to itself. A window allows people to see beyond it. Our lives should help people look beyond us and say, “Look at God!”
You can celebrate the degree. Celebrate the promotion. Celebrate the breakthrough. Celebrate the progress.
But remember:
I’m blessed, but God gets the glory.
I’m gifted, but God gets the glory.
I’m progressing, but God gets the glory.
I’m still standing, but God gets the glory!
The best testimony doesn't end with people impressed by you. It ends with people seeing the faithfulness of God.
Watch the message, share it with someone, and let your life become a window through which somebody can see Jesus.
