7Artisans Dream Lenses: A Real Cine Set for Under $1,000?

Full review of the 7Artisans Dream cine lens set: the 35mm, 50mm, and 75mm T1.5 full frame primes that sell for under $1,000 all together. 7Artisans did not send these and nobody sponsored this video. I bought the set with my own money, so this is the honest version. I ran the whole set through sharpness charts, a brick wall test, focus breathing and focus shift checks, vignetting and distortion, chromatic aberration, night bokeh, and flare tests. The short of it: the 50mm is the sharpest and the one to buy first, the 35mm is the softest wide open, chromatic aberration is the real weak point of the set, and the natural, creamy flares ended up being my favorite thing about these lenses. If you want clinical G Master sharpness, these are not that. If you want character glass with real cine bodies (geared rings, 300 degree focus throw, 82mm fronts) at a price that should not exist, keep watching. Everything was shot on the Nikon ZR in 6K R3D 12-bit and graded in DaVinci Resolve with a simple Rec 709 conversion, so what you see is close to stock.
