Bhopal to Chikhaldara in Heavy Rain | Ghatang’s Dangerous Roads

A monsoon ride from Bhopal to Chikhaldara that started with light rain… and slowly turned into an unforgettable adventure. On 30 July, I began the ride from Bhopal, passing through the green landscapes of Ratapani, Baretha Ghat and Kerpani, crossing the Tapti River, and continuing towards Maharashtra. The roads became greener, the rain stronger, and the mountains more dramatic. But near Bhesdehi, an unexpected setback changed the day — my drone was lost during a riding shoot. Still, the ride had to continue. As I moved ahead towards Kukru, the landscape transformed completely. Heavy fog, rain, steep mountain roads and extremely low visibility made the ride increasingly challenging. And then came the descent towards Ghatang — one of the most intense sections of the ride.
