🌿 A Journey of Blessings | Serlung Perkar Choling Buddhist Institute Join me on a peaceful and meaningful journey to Serlung Perkar Choling Buddhist Institute, where I travelled with friends from the community to offer our service to the monks undergoing their summer retreat. In our Buddhist tradition, offering tea, food, or even a small act of service to monks during a retreat is considered a meaningful act of merit. What began as a simple journey became a beautiful day filled with prayers, blessings, learning, service, friendship, and reflection. From the scenic journey through the mountains and valleys to the warm hospitality of the monks, every moment carried its own beauty. We offered our prayers, received blessings from the Lama, witnessed the monks engage in scholarly debate, and observed their disciplined mealtime traditions. The visit also allowed me to explore the Tara Lhakhang, located above the main prayer hall, and to learn more about the significance of the monastery and its sacred surroundings. The institute also has spaces for recreation and physical well-being, beautifully bringing together spiritual learning, discipline, and community life. The monastery is also associated with a sacred lake, where a special ritual is held every three years, led by a female shaman. New developments are also taking shape around the old Lhakhang premises, adding another chapter to this living spiritual and cultural landscape. As we travelled back home, the peaceful scenery outside the car windows seemed to soothe the mind and leave us with a deep sense of gratitude. This was more than just a visit. It was a reminder that service, prayer, generosity, and togetherness can make an ordinary day deeply meaningful. 🙏 May the merit of our small acts of service bring peace, happiness, and blessings to all.
