We head to Anglesey in our campervan with Holly for a couple of days of walking, exploring, beaches, historic places, Shipwrecks, good food and a few cheeky pints along the way.
We set off early to beat the traffic, but before reaching Anglesey we stop to find the TSS Duke of Lancaster, an old ferry that has sat on land surrounded by concrete for many years. We also discover Abakhan Village, which was closed when we arrived so early in the morning, but looks like it could be a great place to stop and explore the Duke of Lancaster.
Once on Anglesey, our first mission is to find the Manx Rose shipwreck at Dulas Bay. We walk across the bay, keeping a close eye on the tide times, and eventually find the remains of this fascinating old ship. It's a beautiful spot, but definitely somewhere where you need to pay attention to the tides.
For our first night, we use the @TheCampervanBible app to find a pub stopover at the Pilot Boat Inn, Dulas. At just £10 for the night, it was a great little stopover. We also walk part of the Anglesey Coastal Path, find some blackberries for Holly and enjoy a quick pint at the pub.
Unfortunately, the weather changes overnight and the rain arrives.
We head to Cemaes Bay to look for St Patrick's Bell, explore the beautiful village and harbour, and let Holly enjoy the beach. Park for £4 and get 'The worlds largest parking ticket' as a souvineer
From Cemaes we travel to Amlwch Port, where we stop at the Port Chippy for what I think is some excellent chips and the best curry sauce ever! We then have a wander around the historic port before continuing towards Rhosneigr.
We had planned to try and watch some jets at RAF Valley, but the weather was too bad and nothing was flying.
So we stop at the Oyster Catcher near Rhosneigr, where Holly is desperate to get onto one of her favourite beaches, followed by a quick pint before heading to Bodfan Farm for the night.
We've stayed at Bodfan Farm many times and really like it. It's a large, clean and functional campsite in a brilliant location for Rhosneigr village, beaches, restaurants, bars and the coastal path. After getting set up, we head back to the beach with Holly before exploring Rhosneigr.
Later I walk into the village past Sandy Mount House, Medra and Y Morfa, all places we've enjoyed visiting before, before picking up a delicious pizza from Aydins.
Then it's back to the van for a film, pizza and chillout.
Fresh coffee the next morning, and time to pack up and head home.
Another great little campervan adventure in Anglesey with my best friend Holly.
If you enjoy van camping, campervan travel, walking, exploring, beaches, dogs and discovering new places, hopefully you'll enjoy coming along with us.
Thanks for watching ❤️
