Senior citizens have been relegated to the role of second-class citizens by many, sometimes intentionally, and other times unintentionally. A combination of aging, health issues and unfamiliarity with modern technology results in them moving a bit slower than others, sometimes too slow for younger generations. And this can cause impatience, which can lead to condescending attitudes and even disrespectful comments and behavior. Seniors, by virtue of their experience, knowledge, wisdom and contributions to society, deserve not only more respect, but gratitude for all they have done and pay forward to subsequent generations. Many have great accomplishments and contributions that makes life easier and even helped lead to some of the great technology we enjoy today. Many continue to contribute well into their 80s and 90s.
