➡️ 00:00 min - Rumen Radev – Bulgarian PM (Bulgarian): "Today, a declaration by the European Parliament was released, and I wish to address it, as it is a matter of importance for Bulgaria. At a time when we are striving to resolve issues of critical importance to our security, the European Parliament is - regrettably - being exploited. It is being used as a tool by Bulgarian Members of the European Parliament - who possess limited political legitimacy in their own country - to conduct a doomed election campaign. This is completely unacceptable." ➡️ 00:36 min - Rumen Radev – Bulgarian PM (Bulgarian): "Naturally, the resolution was supported by their political families—which they manipulate. This is because the other MEPs are far removed from the reality in Bulgaria. Driven by their own ignorance and manipulative nature, the Bulgarian MEPs mislead their colleagues in the European Parliament. There is else, too - can you imagine: the European Parliament is issuing directives to the sovereign state of Bulgaria - telling us when and what decisions to take - can you imagine? I am referring to the text that specifies a deadline - a timeframe - by which we must become members of a NATO initiative. I repeat: the European Union is ordering us to join a NATO initiative to counter drones?! Yet, our own Minister of Defence has already stated quite clearly when we will join it. And another important point: this initiative was announced in February 2025 - can you imagine? The governments of the countries these MEPs represent did absolutely nothing, yet now they are telling us to join the initiative - and are even setting a deadline for us?!" ➡️Earlier, by an overwhelming majority - with 432 votes in favor, 52 against, and 88 abstentions - the European Parliament adopted a resolution stating that the EU should discuss a naval operation in the Black Sea region, while also criticizing the Bulgarian government for its weak response to the Russian threat. Members of the European Parliament express regret regarding the delay in Bulgaria’s participation in the NATO initiative to counter drones, and strongly urge the Bulgarian government not to delay any further, but rather to officially confirm its participation by October 30. #Bulgarian news network
