Morphagene, Rings, and STO: ambient modular eurorack

A short acoustic guitar line is stretched and pulled and twisted over a generative pad and a bubbling bass ostinato. The guitar was recorded as a reel in the Make Noise Morphagene and left to do its thing without any modulation. A small snippet of the guitar was frozen in the After Later Audio Monsoon (a clone of Mutable Instuments' Clouds) and modulated back and forth gently by a slow LFO from Instruo's Ochd. This makes the ever-present background drone. The warbling pads are sequenced by the no-brand Pachinko (an MI Marbles clone), and the core tone comes from the Make Noise STO. The warble is generated by using a low note from ALM's MCO oscillator as a modulation source for the ALM Pip Slope (the envelope generator for the STO) and Doepfer Wasp filter. The bass pulse is MI's Rings with lots of modulation (position and damping, mostly) from the Ochd. The sequence is an arpeggio from the Arturia KeyStep Pro, with some randomization of octave and note-order. The "wind" texture comes from running some white noise through the TipTop Audio Forbidden Planet filter. The four parts are mixed in and out of each other live using the AI Synthesis Matrix Mixer.
