Mercedes-Benz 300 SL-24V, a quiet road, and a story that spans three generations

I created Drive 2 Share to share the things I love most in life: the people closest to me, emotion, the moments that create it and the cars I am passionate about. I’m starting this channel with one of my beloved sons, who has fallen in love with this Mercedes-Benz 300 SL-24V. He asks me again and again to take him for a drive “with the roof off,” as he puts it. When I was his age, one of my larger-than-life grandfathers owned a car just like this. It was the car I loved most as a child, and when I eventually could, I made room for one in my garage. After my grandfather passed away, I began searching for his exact car. I never found it. But I found one that came very close: the same model and engine, only the colour is slightly different. That difference doesn’t matter. I love driving it, and now I get to share it.
