Hinton St Mary, Dorset, UK

Hinton St Mary is a small, historic village in the Blackmore Vale area of Dorset, England, located about one mile north of Sturminster Newton. The village is very scenic and there is so much there I have yet to explore. It has a rich history, and the 4th century Roman tessellated mosaic found in 1963 is a major claim to fame for the village. That mosaic can now be found in the British Museum in London. I found Hinton St Mary in 2025 and fell in love with The Avenue, a beautiful colonnade of trees that leads to Hinton Manor. Now I have a drone, there was one place I wanted to visit and a particular shot that I wanted and I got as near to what I wanted as the end result. Sadly, my drone didn't make it all the way back to me, due to a rogue branch, the wind and pilot error! Thanks to the team at The Drone Worx (https://thedroneworx.co.uk/) for getting my drone back in the air! I am now looking forward to returning soon and flying again around this idyllic village.
