ten years ago, i released a song called "kutembea nawe" (to walk with You) i don’t think i could have known then how much those words would come to mean to me... and i definitely couldn’t have known how many other people would make them their own. over these ten years, "kutembea nawe" has become an anthem for thousands — woven into weddings, funerals, worship services, celebrations, seasons of waiting, moments of surrender, and deeply personal encounters with God. we have heard story after story of this song becoming part of someone else’s story. that may be one of the greatest honours of my life... ten years of walking with God... through prayers answered and prayers still waiting. through beautiful beginnings and painful endings. through becoming, losing, learning, rebuilding. through seasons i understood and seasons i absolutely did not. and through all of it, He has remained. so this isn’t just a new version of an old song...it’s a testimony. ours — and, beautifully, so many of yours too. ten years later, i can still say with my whole heart..."hakuna mwingine, wa kutembea naye."there is no one else i would rather walk with. here’s to the road behind us. here’s to whatever is still ahead. and here’s to the God who has been faithful through every single step. a few people i must thank.... to allan — so much of what people see with my name on it has your fingerprints all over it. thank you for the countless hours behind the scenes, for carrying things no one ever sees, and for taking the things i dream up and somehow helping make them real. i could never adequately say how grateful i am to get to do this with you. special thanks to rahab from "fierce collections" for the stunning neck pieces that helped bring these looks to life. and to janice — thank you for being the kind of person who always quietly steps in, carries what needs carrying and somehow makes the load lighter for us. we are so deeply grateful for you. #RebekahDawn #KutembeaNawe #10YearsOn #NewMusic
