The FDA has approved Lipfendra® (enlicitide), the first once-daily oral PCSK9 inhibitor for lowering LDL cholesterol.

Lipfendra lowered LDL cholesterol by approximately 56% in adults with hypercholesterolemia and 59% in adults with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia in its pivotal trials. However, its cardiovascular-outcomes trial is still ongoing, so it has not yet been established that Lipfendra itself prevents heart attacks or strokes.
