Oasis - Live in Memphis (15th February 1995) - Speed Corrected

Oasis Location: Memphis, Tennessee, U.S.A Venue: New Daisy Theatre Date: 15th February 1995 Source: Audience Recording Though this tape is one of the roughest Oasis tapes out there, what’s underneath is another ferocious little gig. Oasis are now in Memphis, which had become a synonymous city linked to rock n’ roll. The crowd are enthusiastic much like the last few gigs, and the story hear is pretty much the same as those gigs too. The band quickly punch through song after song (helped by the ever enthusiastic Tony McCarroll on drums) and some great moments here, such as a great vocal on Live Forever by Liam, an energetic Headshrinker and more. As usual for February 1995, Liam’s in great shape and getting more and more confident in using power in his voice (Cigarettes & Alcohol being a great example), and Noel even adds some nice touches to his vocals in Slide Away which is further accompanied by some confident playing in the song’s finale. Overall not much to say on this one, but it’s a shame the tape is so bad, because the performance is actually one of the better ones from the leg. This is also the final circulating show of the first leg of the North American Tour, the lads would fly back for the Brit Awards in just a few days and resume touring in early March.
