CHURCHILL ALEMAO THREATENS INDEPENDENT BID IF DENIED CONGRESS TICKET

Former Goa Chief Minister and former Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao said he is a “Congressman to the core” and has worked for the party for years along with his daughter Valanka Alemao. Alemao said he will contest the 2027 Assembly election from Benaulim on a Congress ticket if given one, but will contest as an independent if denied the party ticket. He said several people from Benaulim have urged him to contest again and claimed Congress can win if it fields a “people’s candidate” with strong support. Targeting the party’s ticket selection process, Alemao said Congress should consider a candidate’s vote bank and public support rather than “Masala” while deciding tickets. He said he wants Congress to win and form the government, but questioned what can be done if “unworthy candidates” are given tickets. #ElectionTicket #PoliticalStatement #GoaNews #Politics ========================================================= Goa News Hub is a Goa's leading digital news channel.
