‘Concert Variations on the Star Spangled Banner’ | Musical Highlight from July 3, 2022

What better way to celebrate America’s Independence than with this nod to one of the country’s first prominent organists? Organist and Director of Music Jeremy Filsell played the final movement from American organist John Knowles Paine’s "Concert Variations on the Star Spangled Banner" at our July 3 service of Festal Eucharist. Paine was a prominent American organist and composer of the 19th century and helped put America on the musical map during his time touring in Europe.
