(English Text) I recently bought a number of citrus plants, and some of them needed repotting. However, the pots I could have used for them were already occupied by other plants—specifically, five pots containing different raspberry varieties (Gold Everest, Valentina, and Black Jewel). We had many days of high heat this summer, and some of the raspberries planted directly in the ground died off. This presented a perfect opportunity to transplant the potted raspberries into those empty spots. 1 Clearing the dead Raspberries Before transplanting, I needed to remove the dead raspberry plants from the ground. I also pruned some of the old canes (specifically, the second-year canes). Once the area was cleared, I dug the holes in preparation for transplanting. 2 Transplanting the Raspberries First, I determined the planting locations. There were five potted raspberry plants across the three varieties. Three of them were relatively small. When transplanting, I placed these three smaller plants along the outer edge to ensure they wouldn't be shaded by the others. 3 Base Fertilizer Normally, it is necessary to add plenty of base fertilizer when planting raspberries in the ground. However, these five potted plants had been repotted just this spring with a soil mix already rich in fertilizer, and they had received liquid fertilizer every 2–3 weeks. Adding more base fertilizer to the planting holes now could risk nutrient burn. Therefore, I did not add any base fertilizer during this transplanting process. If you are transplanting raspberries and the potting soil did not previously contain any fertilizer, I strongly recommend adding base fertilizer to the planting hole. 4 Watering The chosen planting spots were either previously empty or locations where raspberries had died; this implies the area is naturally prone to drying out. Newly transplanted raspberries require significant hydration to help their roots establish in the new environment. Consequently, beyond the initial watering shown in the video, I watered them almost daily for the first year after transplanting (as daytime highs generally ranged from 28°C to 35°C). If the weather is cooler and there is no intense, direct sunlight after you transplant your raspberries, there is no need for excessive watering.
