1,400 Workers Just Got Laid Off. Trump Shows Up To Brag.

Nearly 1,400 truck manufacturing workers in Springfield, Ohio, just got laid off. And just days later, Donald Trump is showing up in the area for a rally while continuing to promote his economic and manufacturing record. Well... this is awkward. This story hits particularly close to home for me because these workers were building International trucks. I drive an International truck every single day. The layoffs happened at the former Navistar plant in Springfield, and they're enormous for the surrounding community. The Associated Press reports that losing nearly 1,400 jobs is enough to essentially wipe out an entire year's worth of job growth in the greater Dayton area. The timing also creates an incredible contrast. Just before heading to Ohio, Trump visited a truck plant in Texas and talked about manufacturing coming back to America. Now he's arriving in an Ohio community dealing with one of the largest truck-manufacturing layoffs we've seen recently. There is some potentially good news for these workers. The incoming owner of the Springfield operation says it intends to rehire workers and eventually expand employment. That's important context, and we'll talk about it. But right now, nearly 1,400 working Americans are facing the reality of losing their jobs. Today we're talking about what happened at the International truck plant, what comes next for these workers, Trump's visit to the area, and the much bigger question of what America's manufacturing economy actually looks like for the people living in it. ☕ Support the channel: https://buymeacoffee.com/theenemyfrom... 💬 Join the Discord:   / discord   ⭐ Become a channel member:    / Канал   🦋 Follow me on Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/enemywithiny... 📧 Business inquiries: TheEnemyFromWithinYT@gmail.com
