As Michiganders, we’re proud to call the Great Lakes our home, and that everyone can get out and enjoy our beautiful lakes and rivers.
But even here, surrounded by the Great Lakes, too many of our neighbors don’t have clean, safe, affordable water. And widespread flooding this past April demonstrated the perilous condition of our dams, bridges, and drainage systems. The Michigan Water Trust Fund Act legislation, introduced by state Sen. Sam Singh in May 2026, would help address these challenges.
In this webinar, we discuss what the legislation would do, how it would benefit communities across Michigan, and how you can support the MWTFA. Our panel includes:
Senator Sam Singh (D-28), MWTFA bill sponsor
Jim Nash, Oakland County Water Commissioner
Lance Binoniemi, Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association (MITA)
Frank Ettawageshik, United Tribes of Michigan
