Mercury 9.9 Carburetor flooding

This is an interesting one that I thought I would share to show some of the odd failures that can catch someone if you are not paying attention. Simple problem of a Mercury 9.9 four stroke outboard, intermittent no start, carb flooding. Gas in the water, and strong smell of gas when trying to start. I thought it was the usual gasket troubles. . . but it wasn't.
