Pastor Jenkins speaks to us today from the word of Yahweh through 1st John 4.
Here, we see that as believers, we are saved by grace through Yahshua our Savior's great act of redemption. Therefore, we must be careful when something (a spirit) speaks to our minds since not all spirits are of Yahweh. So, one may ask, if the spirit is not of Yahweh, then who’s spirit is it? Good question, the answer is if it’s not of Yahweh, then it’s of the devil (the adversary). Remember: because we are in these flesh bodies, the devil speaks to our minds, and that’s why it is so vitally important that we spend time getting acquainted with Yahweh through reading His written word (the Bible). Through His word we find Yahweh’s mind, and we can believe every word that’s written in the Bible.
We must try every spirit to see if they are of Yahweh. So, how do we try the spirits? We try the spirits as recorded here in Verse 2: “Hereby we know the Spirit of Yahweh: Every spirit that confesses that Yahshua is the Messiah is come in the flesh is of Yahweh: Verse 3 goes on to say, “And every spirit that confesses not that Yahshua the Messiah is come in the flesh is not of Yahweh: and this is that spirit of anti-Messiah, whereof we have heard that it should come, and even now already is it in the world.”
Therefore, It’s up to each of us to put in the work and read Yahweh’s word in order that we may be enlightened and know what is or is not the word of Yahweh. Don’t just read the word of Yahweh on the Sabbath Day or wait to hear Pastor Jenkins’ message. No, we must read it every day so that we know without a doubt who we have aligned ourselves – are we a witness for Yahweh through Yahshua the Messiah or a witness for Satan? Staying connected to Yahweh will answer that question.
